OUTILS curriculum

3 parts, 21 topics. Open a part, then follow the link to the chapter, the guide or the mini-process.

Level 1 · Beginner : Becoming self-sufficient in finding information
  • Why these tools change everyday work
Waiting three days for a report from IT, or building it in ten minutes: the difference comes down to a few reflexes.
    Chapter →
  • Finding a field, a table, a transaction
The F1 key is your best friend: it gives the technical name of almost everything.
    Chapter →
  • ALV lists: half the work is already done
Almost all SAP reports are displayed in ALV. Used well, a list avoids repeated Excel exports.
    Chapter →
  • Reading a table without risk with SE16N
SE16N displays the raw data. It is the source of truth when a screen does not give the answer.
    Chapter →
  • ECC 6 or S/4HANA: what changes for you
Many companies still run on ECC 6, others have migrated. The processes remain, the tools move.
    Chapter →
  • Good everyday reflexes
A few habits save several hours a week.
    Chapter →
Level 2 · Intermediate : Extracting and loading data
  • SQVI: your first report in ten minutes
QuickViewer combines several tables without a line of code. It is the self-sufficiency tool.
    Chapter →
  • Understanding joins
A join is the same question as VLOOKUP in Excel, only more powerful.
    Chapter →
  • SE16H: count, total, join
A query with totals, without writing a line of code.
    Chapter →
  • SAP Query: the shared report
When a report must serve a whole team, it moves beyond the personal scope of SQVI.
    Chapter →
  • Which tool for which need?
The best tool is the simplest one that meets the need.
    Chapter →
  • LSMW: loading data in 14 steps
The Legacy System Migration Workbench reads a file, transforms it and feeds SAP without development.
    Chapter →
  • SHDB and SM35: record, replay, correct
The recording stores the screens and fields of a transaction. SM35 replays everything and keeps track of the errors.
    Chapter →
  • Mass changes
Correcting in series without going through a load.
    Chapter →
Level 3 · Advanced : The consultant's toolbox
  • Mastering the IMG
SPRO is only a front: behind each line are table views, and knowing how to find them changes how fast you work.
    Chapter →
  • Transport: from development to production
A setting only exists in production once it has followed the right path.
    Chapter →
  • Comparing two clients
“It works in quality but not in production”: the problem is solved by comparing, not by guessing.
    Chapter →
  • Adapting a screen without development
Before writing code, ask yourself whether a variant is not enough.
    Chapter →
  • Extending without breaking
When the standard is no longer enough, there is a hierarchy of solutions.
    Chapter →
  • Migrating to S/4HANA: Migration Cockpit
The target tool for migrating data in a new implementation.
    Chapter →
  • Diagnosing quickly
An incident is solved by elimination: message, authorization, data, configuration, code.
