The consultant's view: IMG configuration, tables, integration, common errors, S/4HANA and a full case study.
The tools you will find in the chapters.
Read this before the first module: this vocabulary comes up everywhere.
SAP is an ERP: a single database for purchasing, sales, production, the warehouse and finance. Data entered once is reused everywhere.
A complete, self-contained environment (data, configuration, users). E.g. 100 = production, 200 = training. You always log on to a client.
Company code (legal entity), plant (site), storage location, purchasing organization, sales organization… Defined once during the project, almost impossible to change afterwards.
Configuration (SPRO) sets the rules; master data (material, BP) is stable; documents (purchase order, invoice) record day-to-day transactions.
Each screen has a code: ME21N, VA01, FB50. Type /n + code to replace the current screen, /o + code to open a new session.
In dialog, SAP works while you wait. In the background (job), it works on its own; you check the result in SM37. MRP, F110 or mass billing often run as jobs.
Each document is created with reference to the previous one. The document flow traces the whole chain: the first thing to check when you need to understand a problem.
S/4HANA is the current generation of SAP on the HANA database: simplified tables (MATDOC, ACDOCA), Business Partner, Fiori apps. SAP GUI is still available.
Adult-learning methods, backed by 25 years of SAP practice.
